Inspiration for the designer.
So, I was resting in bed the other night thinking of ways to be more creative in my video productions. I like to take part in different free online contest for movie editing. The current contest wanted to see some original creativity. More often than not people put movie clips from tv series together with music. This is where I started at as well. I would try to combine the feel and flow of the clips I used in my video to the music I had selected. Sometimes it would be fast paced , and sometimes it would be slower and more melodic and dramatic.
So as I said, I was sitting in bed looking up at my custom banners, custom posters, and my car decals on my walls that I often do for ideas and thought about multiple editing techniques. How it would be a very interesting idea to cut out all the way around the image digital image with my editing program, frame by frame. This is called masking, and adds a lot of flavoring to any movie you do. Its much more time intensive than removing the colors with a chroma keyer, but the effect can be much cleaner. One thing I would say that I didn’t expect when I first started editing movies is how much time it can take to edit a movies , and do a good job with it. I have obviously improved and refined my editing process tactics since then but it’s still a huge task to set for yourself.
Masking itself, since it goes frame by frame, it’s going to take forever , haha. But I’m really looking forward to it, and I think that by masking I could really stand a good chance in the upcoming contest. I’m excited, and very hopeful about this new technique.
